What's New in Spread Eagle?

Major windstorm in November, 2011

Extremely high winds hit the entire Westcliffe area in mid November.  Portions of the Sangre de Christo's (including Spread Eagle) were hardest hit.  Winds up to 140 mph were reported.  Many large and larger trees, mostly Fir trees, were uprooted or broken.  Lot owners are encouraged to begin cleanup and removal of downed trees, and to inspect for other property damage.

Upgrades to water system planned

There are impending state/federal requirements that will require upgrading our water system.  In addition there have been times where some water pressure has been less than needed.  The only water "storage" in our system is currently the pipes themselves.  Thus the amount of water to our fire hydrants, if ever needed, is in actuality quite limited.

At the September annual meeting the HOA Board and Membership agreed it is time, and so voted to move forward with the upgrade of our water system.

The additional cost of this project, per lot, is about $1000.  It was further voted to assess this amount in three installments of $335 each

Violation of Covenants

The Board has the responsibility to assure that the Covenants are uniformly and diligently enforced and will continue to do so.  Costs of enforcement (including attorney fees) will be assessed to the member violating said covenants.
