Spread Eagle Homes Association is located at the base of the magnificent Sangre de Cristo Mountains, on the west side of the Wet Mountain Valley in south-central Colorado -  gorgeous mountain vistas and sprawling ranches.  The nearly 14,000 foot peaks are part of the quarter million acre Sangre de Cristo Wilderness Area.  The mountain range is the longest, highest, and straightest mountain range on earth.  Our association is named after 13,431 ft Spread Eagle Peak immediately to the southwest.

The Wet Mountain Valley, about 75 miles southwest of Colorado Springs and 55 miles west of Pueblo.  is more than 100 miles long,  In the center of the valley the adjoining historic towns of Westcliffe and Silver Cliff date back to the days of 19th century silver and gold mining.  Learn more about the history of our area.  More area information can also be accessed at the following links:

Teeming with elk, deer, antelope, turkey, and other sport game, the Wet Mountain Valley is a hunter's paradise.  Numerous lakes will satisfy the most discriminating fisherman.


Listed below are just some of the popular area activities

Westcliffe Stampede - one of the biggest and best two-day rodeos in the state County Fair  - over 60 years of livestock shows, exhibits, and competitions. 
Mission Wolf - about 40 miles south of Westcliffe, provides refuge to timber wolves.  Get up and close to wolves.  Over sixty Lakes, ninety miles of the famous Rainbow Trail, and numerous other hiking trails beckon the adventurous.
Frontier Pathways Scenic Byway - 103-mile journey through some of Colorado's most beautiful landscapes Great Sand Dunes National Park - 39 square miles along the western base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The USA's newest National Park!
Hi Country Swingers - hundreds of square dancers from around the nation kick up their heels. Great fishing in Lake Isabel, Lake DeWeese, Brush Creek Lakes, Lakes of the Clouds, and numerous other lakes and streams.
Bishop's Castle - World's largest one-man project, a real castle.  Not to be missed. Royal Gorge - world-famous, highest suspension bridge in the world.  Awesome.
Art for the Sangres - premiere presentation and sale by nationally renowned artists  White-water rafting on the Arkansas River
4th of July - Flea market, dance, ice cream social, fireworks, and more Jones Theater - Live performances and big-screen hits in this historic theater.
